It’s packed with flavor, protein, and that Hawg Sauce kick… this Cornbread Casserole is a full meal in a pan. Grab some extra cornbread to sop up the leftovers and indulge in this cheesy, meaty goodness. Corn brings that sweet flavor and extra pop of texture, and you’ll have to break that string of cheese when you pull your fork away from the plate. If you’re from the south, you’ve surely enjoyed this classic, but with Hawg Sauce it goes a step further. Easy to make and delicious as always!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup McMasters’ Hawg Sauce
1/2 pound ground beef
1 15 oz. can pinto or black beans, rinsed and drained
1 15 oz. can corn, drained
2 cup shredded Cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish..
2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Remove from heat and drain. Add beans and McMasters’ Hawg Sauce.
3. Prepare cornbread batter according to package instructions. Pour cornbread batter into the bottom of the greased baking dish. Spread beef mixture evenly over the batter then top with corn. Sprinkle cheese over the top and cook at 375°F for 30-35 minutes or until cheese is fully melted and the casserole bubbles. Remove and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
4. OPTIONAL: Garnish with sour cream and green onion.
