Indulge yourself in this mashup of some of the most classic Southern dishes, infused with the tangy flavor of McMasters’ Hawg Sauce! Our take on the classic sloppy joe, in a bite-size meal with our perfect barbecue sauce bonus. Plus, it’s simple, only about 30 minutes of prep and cook time, and absolutely delicious! Ingredients:
1 lb – Ground beef
1/4 cup – Chopped celery
1/4 cup – Chopped onion
1/4 cup – Chopped green pepper
1/2 cup – McMasters’ Hawg Sauce
1 tube (12 oz) – Refrigerated biscuits (flaky layers)
1/2 cup – Shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
2. Cook beef and vegetables in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is no longer pink. Drain, stir in McMasters’ Hawg Sauce and bring to a boil. Next, reduce heat, simmer (uncovered) for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Separate dough into 10 biscuits, flatten to 5 inch circles. Press into the bottoms and up the sides of greased muffin cups. Then fill with beef & Hawg Sauce mixture.
4. Bake until biscuits are golden brown (9-11 minutes). Finally, sprinkle with cheese and bake until cheese is melted (1-2 minutes longer).
